Do you constantly ask yourself, “Can I do this?” Wondering if you are brave enough, worthy enough, trained enough, financially stable enough, committed enough, or understood enough to take on whatever it is you desire?
Whether the vision of your daydreams involves your dream vacation, switching careers, moving to a different city, learning a new skill, reaching your ideal client, expanding your family, or anything in between or beyond, just know this...
If you are being true to yourself, then you are simply VALID ENOUGH.
Recently I learned that the part of our brain that makes decisions is also of the same region that controls our feelings, yet is different from the part of the brain that controls language. So we may experience a strong “gut instinct” or feeling to pursue something, but we can't really find the right words to explain it, even to ourselves, our closest friends, our family members, and our trusty confidantes.
Over the last year, I have taken multiple huge leaps, both personally and professionally, that felt tricky and sometimes even silly to explain. I’d think to myself, “Does any of this even make sense?”
Here's a few examples:
Convincing my husband (of 3 months) to move in with my parents while we pay off my enormous graduate school loan
Quitting my cushy, full-time career to start my own company (with no savings account)
Investing in a high-end, professional camera (with absolutely no paid gigs lined up)
Yet, I knew in my heart that I needed to do each of these things to keep pushing in the direction of my dreams, living my purpose, and sharing my gifts with the world. And as time passed, each of these leaps became incredibly valuable to my new venture.
Now, I want you to try it.
Take that “Can I do this?”
And turn it into —> “I can do this.”
It’s simple. It’s powerful. It's non-negotiable to get to where you truly want to be.
Believe in yourself! You are limitless. Spend a few moments today, right now, or this weekend letting your daydreams take you on a journey to living your own unique purpose.
If there's one thing the world needs more of, it's happy people. And doing work you feel deeply connected to is one way to bring a lot more joy into your life, so that you can share it with others.
Let me know in a comment below what you’re dreaming up. I’m here to cheer you on, friends.
That's all for today.
